Avett Brothers: Shame (Acoustic Cover)

October 3, 2010

A cover of the Avett Brothers’ song “Shame”. And yes, that’s my banjo you can here in there. I know, what’s the world’s come to… but I’ll tell you: if you don’t own their records yet, buy all of them. These guys are incredible.

Avett Brothers: Murdered in the City (Cover)

October 2, 2010

I love this song so much I can’t begin to describe it. I tried to make it sound like an older recording… there are only five tracks. One for the “lead” vocals, one for the harmony vocals, one for the drums, one for the fingerpicked guitar, and one for the dobro/slide stuff, which I wanted mixed way in the back, like a plaintive, haunting sound, because the original song is so darn haunting to me. I had fun with this one. Can’t wait to play it live.
